Hello Shamrocks!
My name is Katie Hansen, and I am the 7th grade homeroom teacher at SJCS. I will be teaching 6th, 7th, and 8th grade Math as well as 7th grade Social Studies and Religion. I couldn't be happier about being at St. John for the whole day this year!
I am also taking on the role of yearbook advisor, and am excited about helping to create this book of memories for all students to enjoy.
I grew up in Hayward, CA and went to St. Clement and Moreau Catholic High School (Go Mariners!). While at Moreau, I ran Cross Country, and graduated with the honor of speaking at my graduation as Salutatorian.
For college, I decided to leave Mission Boulevard and head up north to The University of Portland (Go Pilots!). While there, I studied Secondary Education and Mathematics, graduating with a B.S. in Secondary Education and a double major in mathematics. Upon graduating I also received my teaching license for Oregon.
I have had the pleasure of working in both middle school and high school classrooms. I am happy to be teaching at the junior high level as well as being an assistant coach for Moreau Cross Country. I look forward to all that this year has in store, as your children and I work together to develop skills and continue our journey of being faith-filled learners.
Feel free to visit both the school and this website often.
Blessings,
Ms. Katie Hansen
